How to link Quicken to my Chase/Amazon Prime CC Account?

Apparantly I need to use direct connect but Quicken is not happy with my Chase login credentials. It looks like Quicken needs to end up as a linked app in my Chase account but all of the instructions I can find online, in Quicken and from the Chase "senior" account rep on how to do this are all garbage. Help, please.

Chase does support EWC as a downloading method
    10898    10898    10898    Chase    https://www.chase.com/    1-877-242-7372    https://secure01c.chase.com    ACTIVE    BANKING,CREDIT,ACCOUNTINFO,PAYMENT&DIRECT    BANKING,CREDIT&WEB-CONNECT         BANKING,CREDIT,ACCOUNTINFO&EXP-WEB-CONNECT    NOT_QBP    NA
and since Chase is going to drop support for Direct Connect perhaps you're as well off just using EWC from the git-go.
I set up my Amazon Prime credit card in Quicken using Direct Connect long enough ago that I simply don't remember any particular problems or "special" things I had to do to get connected.  Looking at the Chase site under the "Security & Privacy" tab I do see a box titled "Desktop Software" but clicking through that simply tells me I've got Quicken established as a program that can access Chase and not much more.
I do know that Quicken doesn't like some special characters in passwords.  Could that be your problem?

OK, but how do I use EWC? I didn't see that as an option in the Quicken add account process.

I do have a question mark character in my password. That's not on the list in that article link but it does say "and others" so maybe the ? is the problem. I'll take a look at that.

You may need allow Quicken desktop access to your Chase account at https://secure07a.chase.com/web/auth/dashboard#/dashboard/securityCenter/overview/index

When you scroll down on the Security & Privacy page, there should be a link for Desktop Software.

I suggest using the Web Connect connection method instead as Chase has announced their plan to no longer support the Direct Connect connection method in September.

Viola! The bit about Desktop Software was what I was missing. From there they walk you through a quick authorization process and then everything started working. Thank you all very much!!!

Just be aware Chase will drop the Direct Connect functionality soon and is not likely to address any issues that may appear as they attempt to complete the transition.  That is why I suggest switching over to the Web Connect connection method at the first sign of an issue.

Click on Advanced Options on the Add Account screen and you'll get the other options to download.

Today I tried updating my Chase direct connect to the Express Web Connect. At one point it asks you to sign into the Chase account, which I did, then you go through a couple of informational screens, then finally when it goes to the connect phase I get redirected to a chase_outage error page that says We'll be back shortly. First attempt was around 8 am today. Second attempt was at noon. Same error. Has anyone actually got this to work?
