Access to Just One Account

Is there a way to allow access to just one of the bank accounts in your Quicken banking list in the mobile app?

Here is the scenario. In our account list, we have a savings account set up for our daughter. She is starting to use that account for gas and her own personal expenses. We would like to install the Quicken app on her phone so she can start using something to keep tack of her own balances. We would like to only give her access to that one account (we have 9 others accounts linked to our ID). Is there a way to do this easily?

    Hello @ChrisAB,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community with your question.

You can select/deselect accounts to display in the Quicken Mobile app through your desktop program.

Based on your profile details, it appears you are using Quicken for Windows. If this is incorrect, please let me know and I can provide Quicken for Mac instructions instead.

Before you begin, first, you will want to make sure you are signed out of the Quicken Mobile app.

Then, to select/deselect accounts from your Quicken for Windows program, please navigate to the Mobile & Web tab. In this tab, on the right-hand side, you will see a box titled Accounts enabled on mobile and web (#). Click on the Gear icon on the top right of this box, then click Account Settings (see below).

You should now see a list of all your accounts with checkboxes (see below).

Check the box for the account you wish to show in the Quicken Mobile app, and leave accounts you do not wish to display unchecked. Then click Update Accounts on the bottom right to sync. Once the sync has completed, sign back in on the Quicken Mobile app.

    I hope this helps!

Thank you for your response! I was not fully clear on what I was asking about. I still want to be able to use the app on my iPhone and have access to all the accounts in our Quicken account list we have synced to the web, but I don't want my daughter to have access to all of them. Is there a way to set up an account for her where she only has access to her one account in our account list.

So, say I have five accounts that we sync with the web. I would only like her to have access to one of those accounts.

I am using Quicken for Windows.

Maybe you should set up her account in a separate data file just for her.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

@ChrisAB Thank you for your response and clarification.

Unfortunately, there is not a way to do this with your current data file. But as @volvogirl suggested, it would be possible by setting up a separate data file with that single account and then syncing that to the Mobile app. However, keep in mind that the Mobile and Web apps give access to any data files synced through your Quicken ID and password. That being said, any files that are set up for Cloud Sync will still be accessible through both apps.

    Thank you!
