why is rebooting Quicken necessary after updating accounts on line, to repeat the process

Quicken Windows Subscription Unconfirmed, Member
I frequently update all my financial accounts online multiple times a day. After the first time updating, and on the second attempt, the update will not start. To update again, I need to close Quicken (Windows subscription Version R42.21) and reboot to have the updating initiate and complete. Why? this is a change from earlier versions. I have been using QW for more than 20 years

I implemented the File Validation procedure you suggested above (not the Super Validate)and that seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks you very much for your prompt and informative response. Richvdp10

Hello @Richvdp1,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about your issue, though I apologize that you are experiencing this.
To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.
Validate:- File
- Validate and Repair File...
- Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
Super Validate:- File
- Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
- Super Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps!
