Posting charge without split categories results in posting not being visible in account

Without category splits a new transaction affects the account balance and shows in a reconciliation but it does not appear in the account ledger. If there is a split, the transaction appears as expected. I have done no experimentation beyond what I have written here.

What kind of account? A Credit Card account or bank account? Maybe the register is filtered or sorted in some way. Try clicking on Reset at the top.
I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

Thanks for helping. This happened immediately after the last update (R43.20 - 27.1.43.20). It's a credit card account. The register is not filtered. If there was a green button on the "query" line, I'd click it, but there is no such button. Anyhow, I manually cleared each query box. The register is sorted by date. It is odd that if there is a split line in use, the entry is visible. Further, when doing a reconciliation, the invisible transaction is visible. No experimentation... don't know if this is one account or...? (IRL I've owned several Volvos... a 1985 wagon for 14 years was a treasure. I rallied Volvos for recreation.)0

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words …
Can you please capture one or more images of the parts of your Quicken window showing the issue, sensitive information blacked out as necessary to protect your privacy but annotated to describe the situation, and attach the image(s) here?

I believe I have discovered what the problem was. Returning the sort order to "current date at the bottom" (it was probably the reverse of that) revealed the "missing" item. Let me further experiment. If I have not found the cause of my problem, I will get back to you with details. I will need a few days. Thank for looking in on my problem. = Ron0
