Cannot add a new account.

Recently changed from Quicken 2016 to the online version. My files were transferred with no major problems. Today, I attempted to add a new Credit Card account but got no further screen to put in my information. I tried from the edit menu and from the account list. It's like it's totally ignoring me. I wondered if there was a maximum account issue that I didn't know about. I have the latest version of Quicken and using WIndows 11.

I am sorry to hear about this problem with adding new credit accounts. Thank you for looking to the Quicken Community for assistance.
First, what banking institution is the account associated with? Also, have you tried restarting your computer after this happens? You may additionally try uninstalling the Quicken software using the steps listed in this Support Article, then deleting Quicken from the Program Files (x86) folder. You may then reinstall the software after following those steps using the steps listed here. Note that uninstalling your program should not affect your data.
I look forward to your response.
Thank you,

I don't get the opportunity to even start adding the account. I'll try restarting and reloading if necessary. Is there a maximum number of accounts?0

Is there a maximum number of accounts?AFAIK, in Quicken for Windows there's a maximum of 512 accounts per account group (Checking, Savings, etc.)What exact version of Quicken do you use (Release R xx.xx)? Click Help / About Quicken to get this.
How do you start the Add Account process and what happens when you do so?

I replaced my Quicken 2016 version with Quicken Home Edition R44.28 (Build:27.1.44.28) on November 6th. I've been a Quicken User for several years and I'm quite familiar with how to use it. I tried to add a new CC account by selecting "Tools" then "Add Account". No response for quite a few minutes then received a notification that "Quicken could not complete your request. Please try again later." I then tried to do the same thing using the "Account List" screen and got the same response. As of now I have not uninstalled and reinstalled.0

I've just uninstalled and reinstalled the software but still can't add an account.0

Have I asked about the Windows version you are using?
There have been reports of communications problems when using Windows 7, 7+SP1, 8 (aka 8.0).

If you are getting "Oops, something went wrong" or "Check Internet Connection" …
Did you install Windows 10 or 11 Security Updates for October?
If so, you should be on Windows 10 or 11 22H2 plus the November Updates. To make sure that Quicken is allowed to update and save its configuration files please check if Windows Defender Controlled Folder Access feature Ransomware protection is enabled.
If so, configure it to add Quicken as an "allowed app" without turning off Ransomware protection. Perform the last step in https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7857675/faq-windows-defender-controlled-folder-accessHave you recently enabled a VPN?
If so, this might be the problem. Try turning the VPN off and see if that helps.
- Is there a corporate or otherwise external firewall getting in the way? Contact the IT people maintaining the firewall and ask for permission.
- Does your Antivirus software
allow Quicken to connect to the Internet?
Quicken needs to be able to establish outbound Internet connections for the program to work, e.g., in McAfee Firewall, one user states "By editing the Quicken Firewall entry Selecting Incoming and Outgoing, and changing it from "Default" to "Open to all devices" it now works without having to turn off the entire firewall!"
If necessary, contact the Antivirus / Firewall vendor's Support Center.
- In older Windows systems go
to Windows Control Panel and select Internet Options (or in Internet
Explorer, click on Tools / Internet options.)
Click the Advanced tab.
Scroll down the list to "Use TLS x.x" and click to put a checkmark on all available TLS choices.
Turn off "Use SSL 3.0"
Click Apply. Reboot.
- If all else fails: Try rebooting your network router. When done reboot your PC

I have done everything suggested and I still cannot add an account. My Quicken Deluxe version: R45.11
Build: 27.1.45.11. I'm running on Windows 11 Home and have updated to the latest version. I have a VPN that I disconnected. I removed MacAfee altogether. Don't know what else I can do.0 -
I'm having this same issue. I'm unable to add any new bank, credit card, asset or liability accounts. I've tried to click the "+" option on the blue bar above my accounts and have tried to add by Tools-Add Account, as well as clicking the Add Account button from the Account List pop-up. Nothing happens.0
