One Step Update w/2FA - Navy Federal Credit Union

I have 1 financial institution that requires a 2-step authentication process to execute a 1-Step download -- Navy Federal Credit Union. Every single time, I have to do the 2FA TWICE in order to get the 1-Step Download to work. Initially, it would work with only one 2FA, but now, every time, it needs to be done twice. Any ideas?

  • Hello @Afterprop,

Thank you for contacting the Quicken Community, though I do apologize that you are experiencing this error.

First, I suggest creating a test file and adding the Navy Federal Credit Union account(s) to see if it produces the same issue with the repetitive 2FA when attempting downloads. It is recommended to save a backup before proceeding with troubleshooting steps in the event that you would like to return to your original starting position. Below are instructions on how to create a test file:
    1. Choose File menu > New Quicken File.

    1. Select New Quicken File.

    1. Click OK.
    2. In the File name field, enter the name of the new file, then click Save. Use a name like "Test File" to tell it apart from your main file.

Don't use any of these characters: * ? < > | " : \ / (asterisk, question mark, left and right-angle bracket, pipe, straight quotation marks, colon, BACKSLASH, FORWARD SLASH). Also, don't add the .qdf extension; Quicken does that for you.

    1. Sign in with your Quicken ID. If you are prompted to create a Quicken ID but already have one, click Sign In under the Create Account prompt.

    1. Select to not use Mobile.
    2. Click Add Account to start adding accounts to the new file.

After adding accounts, see if you are experiencing the same problems in this test file.

Please let me know how this goes, I look forward to hearing your response.

How many accounts do you have activated for downloading at NFCU?
Are they all under the same logon ID and password?
Are they all using the same "Express Web Connect" transaction download protocol?
Have you tried deactivating all accounts at NFCU and then reactivated them all using the Add Account process ("+" icon in the Accounts sidebar title)?

Thanks for your suggestions. Four accounts at NFCU, all under the same logon ID, p/w, and "Express Web Connect." I created a test file, added the NFCU accounts, no issues. I then went to my working file, after saving a backup, deactivated all 4 NFCU accounts, and then reactivated them. Seemed to work today with just a single 2FA. Sweet ! ! ! Thank you for your help / expertise ! ! !
