Category Transfer

We recently closed old checking accounts and opened new ones with entire new data file. I need to have all the categories and associated info transferred from old to new. Is that possible?

Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community with this question.

Unfortunately, you cannot only move certain pieces of your data file, you would have to move the entire data file which includes all transactions, accounts, categories, etc.

I apologize for the inconvenience and hope this clears things up.

Why did you start a new data file? Normally you keep going in the same file and just add the new accounts. Plus don't you need to enter transfers from the old bank accounts to the new bank accounts? If you haven't done too much in the new data file I would abandon it and continue on in the prior data file.
