How to Stop Quicken from Renaming Payees (Quicken Mac)

I already have the box "Automatically improve the quality of downloaded payee names and categories" unchecked in settings[1].

About two software updates ago Quicken for Mac started renaming payee names on download, disregarding that setting. I have to revert them all manually by right-clicking and selecting "Revert to Downloaded Payee Name".

Is this a bug that got introduced in a recent update?

    I can't answer what changed or whether there's a bug on Quicken's back-end, but I'd point you to this existing thread discussing this issue.
