Anyone else have to wait 3 min 40 sec for quicken to load in
Since my last update to Quicken premier I have to wait 3:40 for it to open up on my laptop running Windows 11. I have been on the phone with Quicken support for at least 6 hours trying to resolve this issue. We have tried to reinstall the app. We have run the validate. We have disabled my virus protection. Support has explored other options but the issue persists.

How large is your Quicken file?
Quicken on Windows is still a single-threaded 32-bit application, meaning it will run about the same speed on a modern high-end machine as it will on a machine from 1998.. I don't know if this is deliberate, or whether the only person at Quicken who knew how to compile code written in .NET 1.1 died of old age.
Either way, the bottom line is that Quicken's performance won't scale with your PC's capabilities, because most of the underlying database and rendering engine it was designed in 1986 and hasn't been updated since the Windows 98 era.

Hello @a.piano@,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about this issue. I'm sorry to hear you're running into this problem. Generally, larger files will take longer to load than smaller ones. The time you mention does sound excessive unless this is an unusually large file or a very slow computer though.
You mentioned that you have uninstalled/reinstalled the program, disabled your antivirus, and ran a validate on your file. Did you do any other troubleshooting steps? Since you mentioned this just started with the last update, have you tried restoring a backup from before that update?
Thank you.

An experiment to try is to open Quicken by holding (left side) Ctrl and Shift while double-clicking the Quicken icon, thereby not opening a data file. If it's significantly faster, then the time is being consumed by loading the data rather than by starting the program.
Let us know, @a.piano@ and we can go from there.
Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Premier (US) on Win10 Pro.

Slow Performance issue for Laptop users:
Is your laptop plugged in while you're working with Quicken or are you running on battery with power saving reduced performance settings?
Check your Control Panel / Power Options. Make sure the selected Power Plan allows for best performance while plugged in and while on battery. Here's some more info to look at regarding performance:
