Quicken R48.15 runs SLOW flashes screens freezes

After reading discussion from 04/2022 re: Q running slowly, I wondered why, one year later, my subscription version is still doing the same things. Thought it might have something to do with size of my data file

    Hello @HildeMueller,

Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community, though I do apologize that you are experiencing this issue.

Would you mind providing further clarification on when you are experiencing the slowness and freezing? Is it occurring during One Step Updates? When opening Quicken? When navigating to different tools and functions? How long have you been experiencing this issue?

I look forward to your response.

@ HildeMuller I doubt it is your data file. Mine is 180Mb and there are no issues. If you have alot of attachments or investment transactions that may cause a slowdown but again I doubt this is the cause. Do you do online sync? What version of Quicken are you using.

@ Snowman I am using the subscription version of QHBRP so R48.15.

@ Quicken Jasmine Several places: entering/accepting downloaded transactions in registers; deleting/updating bill reminders causes screen overlays; one-step updates cause lots of screen flashing and S-L-O-W response time. When I open Q I get first a blank screen, then only File and Help on the ribbon, then a long delay and finally Q opens.

    Hello @HildeMueller,

Thank you for providing more information.

To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.

    Super Validate:

    1. File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

Please let me know how this goes!
