Every Financial Entry is now adding STKSplit
Every financial entry that downloads from Fidelity and Merrill Lynch has an Action: StkSplit with Description of 100 for 100 Split. Fidelity (my 401K from NetBenfits) started on Dec 27 2022 entries. ML just started on Mar 27 2023. An example of ML download shows two entries first recorded with StkSplit 100 for 100 split. Then comes the security reflecting a dividend. The reflects Withdraw (Reinvestment Program). So a StkSplit action is going to every entry being created. Stock Split; 100 for 100 split; StkSplit

Hello @michaelalan34,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about this issue. I'm sorry to hear you're running into this problem. Was there anything that happened just before these issues started, such as a power outage, power surge, update, unexpected program or computer shut down, etc? Do you keep your Quicken file on your C: drive, or is it on a shared network drive? Do you have the file synced with any cloud service, such as One Drive or Dropbox? Is this affecting all of your accounts with those financial institutions, or just some of the accounts?
Thank you.

Not aware of any particular shutdown, spikes, etc typ issues.
I run Quicken every day. Fidelity NetBenefits was having problems updating. I tried disconnecting the downloads then reinstall but that didn’t fix the problem. When I contacted support, I was told by Quicken support that it was known issue. It seemed like that particular issue took about 2 weeks to get fixed, but that is also when I noticed that all my entries were now doing the stock split. I have securities through Fidelity and Merryll Lynch and both are affected. Today, with my Merryll Lynch account popped warning that many of account share balances are off. I had seen this before, but knew there was usually a timing from when I purchase and recording accurate share balances. However today, it shows most of the account share balances off…. I didn’t have time to research, but since there were several securities, and I only had two reinvest dividend transactions today – it means that these have not been getting corrected.
I save directly to my hard drive and do backups to my one-drive.

Thank you for your reply,
To determine if the transactions are coming from the financial institutions that way or if its something happening in your file when they download, I would recommend creating a test file. It is always a good idea to backup your file first. Once you have created the backup, create a new file and name it "Test". In that new file, add your accounts with those financial institutions. Do they download the same way in that test file, or do they download correctly? Once you're done in the test file, you can return to your main file (directions to switch between files can be found here).
Thank you.

I created Test file and downloaded the transactions from Fidelity NetBenefits (work 401K) and ML (personal brokerage, (2) IRA, Roth IRA). In this download, there is no 100/100 stock split entries for the Fidelity Account. For ML, all 4 accounts had one entry for Mar 27 for the SCHWAB US LARGE-CAP. Action is StkSplit; New Shares 100; Old Shares 100; Memo: Reinvestment Share(s): SCHWAB US LARGE-CAP ETF PRINCIPAL REINV A. I own this security in all 4 of the accounts. I was given a warning sign asking what I wanted to do, so I accepted. It is the only entry that reflected the stock split. Both Fidelity and ML limited the number of downloads back to mid-Jan, neither account has another 100/100 stock split other than ML Mar 27.

Thank you for your reply,
From what you're describing, it sounds like it downloaded normally in the test file. That indicates whatever is causing it to change is specific just to your main file. In your main file, right click on one of your investment transactions and select Memorized Investment Transaction List.
That will bring up a window showing any investment transactions it has memorized. If it has memorized any incorrect stock splits, click on them to highlight, the click the Delete button to remove the memorized transaction. Next, go to Edit>Preferences>Downloaded transactions. Check the setting for Split detection after download to make sure its not set to automatically document transactions as splits without asking first.
If the issue persists after you have checked/adjusted these, please let me know so we can troubleshoot further.
Thank you.
