While we're waiting for your response to Boatnmaniac's question which will tell us what downloads are available.
You can start by going to the financial institution's website and figure out how to download the transacttions into hopefully a Web Connect .QFX file. A .QIF or .CSV file will work if you then pass it thru ImportQIF (free from quicknperlwiz.com) for importing into Quicken.
.QFX files can be directly imported into Quicken after the first import which will require that you choose the corrrect Quicken account to link to.

My typo suprises me, but luckily it's just in this post. I am not sure which of the entries listed it is using. I don't recall being given a choice, nor can I find where to check.0

splasher: As stated (with typo) Tompkins Community Bank. I do see how to download - using the .QFX option, but when I go to import it to Quicken, it has become a .OFX file, which is not recognized0

it's when you created the ADD ACCOUNT.
You should see the name listed as the account name -0 -
The account was added a year ago (not used since; new edtion of Quicken started now). Not sure of all the other details, but it is Tompkins Community Bank - NY, and using Direct Connect0

@fjphilli2 - If you are downloading with DC, why do you want to manually download and import transactions from your online bank account? I'm not criticizing…just trying to understand so an appropriate response can be provided.
(BTW - You'd mentioned that you had tried to download in QFX format but that it "had become a OFX file". I don't think that is even possible without running it through a conversion program or manually editing the QFX file in a text program and then saving it as an OFX program. Do you think that perhaps you might have accidentally downloaded an OFX file instead of a QFX file? I know that sometimes, if the font is too small or with certain font styles the "Q" in QFX and the "O" in OFX can be somewhat easy to misread.)

Looking at the file properties of the downloaded .QFX file will show it to be an .OFX file, but that doesn't matter to Quicken.
