Every one of the Quicken Windows editions (Starter, Deluxe, Premier, Home & Business) are compatible with Windows 11.

Of course Quicken is compatible with Windows 11. I have been using it on Win 11 for over a year.

Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience. I have a new Windows 11 computer and every time I try to open Quicken, it immediately crashes with the "Quicken unexpectedly quit the last time it was run" error. I called support. This is a known problem, and the only workaround is to hold down the shift-control keys when opening Quicken, and then selecting the data file to open. Using this process does allow me to open my file and work on it, but other things do not work like validation. I can open the exact same file on a Windows 10 PC with no errors and the file checks out clean from validation and super validation on the Windows 10 PC.

@Chillbill Yours is a unique issue because your data file is corrupted. Starting Quicken without opening the data file as you are doing proves that Quicken runs on Win11.

    - Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11

I went through this with Quicken Support, who remote connected to my PC. Even when a brand new file is created after a fresh install, the exact same thing happens, which Quicken Support confirmed. As I mentioned, Quicken Support said this is a known issue affecting other users on Windows 11. Also, Quicken will not start on Windows 11 unless control-shirt are pressed, regardless of the file (and Support tried several test files), which does show that it can run on Windows 11, but not as it should.

Well then it is something about your specific setup. There are MANY Quicken users that are running it on Windows 11. It is in no way incompatible with Windows 11. Maybe your antivirus software? Have you tried disabling it when you open Quicken to see if that is the problem?

We did try disabling antivirus. This has been very frustrating. The support team tried many things. All I can say is that they told me that this is not a unique situation to me, and it is a known bug that they need to fix.

One suggestion to try. Create a new Windows user account and try running Quicken from that account.

@Chillbill, are you sure you actually contacted Quicken Support and some scam support site? They have no record of you contacting them.

I just called back again this morning. I don't have a ticket number but I just spent an hour on the phone with them. We went through all the same things as before. The conclusion is that something deep in my user settings was blocking Quicken from connected to my online account. We could not figure out what exactly was blocking access. We tried disabling anti-virus and disabling the firewall. The only thing left to try was to delete my user account and start fresh. This worked! So, while it was a hassle, I did not lose any data. I just needed to delete my Windows user account and start over. Perhaps this will help others who may be experiencing a similar issue. It was not a Quicken data file issue. It was something in my Windows user configuration that was blocking the Quicken app from connecting to my online Quicken account. I am very relieved that it is working again.
