QWin 2014-2017 are no longer supported products and are no longer compatible with the current Quicken initialization process. So, new installations of those versions cannot usually be completed.
If, however, you have access to your old computer's hard drive, copy the Quicken.ini file from it and paste it into the same folder on your new computer. Some people have said that doing this will permit your QWin 2017 installation to complete and function properly.
If this hack does not work, then you will have to make a decision regarding which path to follow:
- Upgrade to Quicken Subscription. After a year you can decide whether or not to renew. If you choose not to renew you will be able to continue using it manually (except for Starter which will become read-only). But note that if you do not renew, there will be a banner reminding you to renew that will take up about 20%-25% of the screen and it cannot be removed without resubscribing. It's a nuisance but it does not affect functionality.
- Or upgrade to Quicken Subscription and export the data in your file in QIF format. Then, within 30 days of your Quicken subscription, cancel it to get a refund. Uninstall Quicken Subscription and then download and install Quicken Deluxe 2013 for free from Quicken 2013 for Windows. Then you can import that QIF data file into you Quicken Deluxe 2013. (You might need to do some tweaking/editing of some of the data after import to get it to look like you want to.) Since QWin 2013 does not require a Quicken ID, you should be able to continue using it for as long as your system supports the software.
- Or you can stop using QWin and search for some other option that might better meet your needs.
