Cannot Recategorize Multiple Transactions
2. DoubleClick a lowest level subcategory to view transactions that comprise that subcategory - works
3. right click any transaction to see pop-up menu - works
4. select recategorize transaction - works
5. select multiple transactions (two or more) using shift or control - works
6. right click the multiple selected transactions - recategorize is grayed out! This is a defect; this always worked in the past, for over 10 years. Is this recognized as a bug? I need this feature to work!

Hello @Pat Sills,
Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community, though I do apologize that you are experiencing this issue.
To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.
Validate:- File
- Validate and Repair File...
- Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.
Super Validate:- File
- Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
- Super Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
Please let me know how this goes!

Jasmine, I performed Validate and Super Validate. Neither found any serious problems. I closed and restarted, and issue persists. This issue occurs about 80% of the time when trying to recategorize multiple transactions. Thx for any help.

Edit Menu / Find/Replace outside the report(s) might be a workaround until the programmers get a round tuit and fix the issue.
Either way, please be sure to have or create a backup of your Quicken data file before you start making changes involving several transactions. You want to have a backup as a fallback position, should you make an error that you find too difficult or impossible to undo.
