Etrade Bank (FDP-101)

Since approx. 4/14/2023, Quicken throws an error (FDP-101; "CP_SCRIPT_ERROR
General error. Account summary layout changed") when trying to connect to savings and checking accounts at Etrade bank. Prior to around 4/14/2023, I had no issue connecting or updating these bank accounts. My Etrade brokerage/retirement accounts connect and update without an issue.

    Hello @Chris Topher,

Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community, though I do apologize that you are experiencing this issue.

This error message is displayed when there are outdated login credentials stored in Quicken for Mac and/or the Keychain app.

To start with, I suggest deactivating the account(s) experiencing this error, removing the saved login credentials from the Keychain Access app, and then reactivating the accounts. However, before doing so, I do recommend saving a backup of your data file first (just in case). Then, please check and make sure you do not have any hidden accounts that may be connected to this financial institution.

    1. Go to the Accounts menu and choose Hide and Show Accounts
    2. Uncheck any accounts with this specific financial institution that are checked as hidden in Lists

After that, please follow the troubleshooting instructions below.

    1. Open the account register and navigate to the Settings gear on the bottom-right corner
    2. Click on the Downloads tab
    3. Click Disconnect Account (if there are more than one account associated with this financial institution, please repeat steps 1 through 3 for each account)
    4. Quit Quicken
    5. Open Finder and navigate to Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access app
    6. On the left panel in the Keychain Access app, select Login and select Passwords at the top
    7. Search for the financial institution's name in the top-right search field and delete any entries found showing "Quicken password for [your financial institution username] at [financial institution name] "
    8. Quit the Keychain Access app and reopen Quicken
    9. Navigate to Accounts > Add Account...
    10. Use the search field at the top of the list to find and select your financial institution and click Continue
    11. Follow the prompts to sign in using your login credentials associated with the financial institution
    12. If the accounts have been found successfully; use the dropdown menus to link each account to the appropriate account in Quicken

You may read more regarding this error message here.

Please let me know how this goes!

Thanks for the quick response. These steps did not work to correct the issue with the checking/savings accounts, but relinking to the brokerage accounts worked without a hitch.

Strangely, if I download transitions from Etrade for my brokerage accounts, quicken will process them. If I download transactions (as Quicken Web Connect format) for savings/checking accounts from Etrade, I get this error: "Download unavailable! Quicken is unable to update this account because Web Connect support for your financial institution has been either temporarily, or permanently discontinued [CC-885].").

    Hello @Chris Topher,

Thank you for providing more information.

First, I suggest creating a test file and attempting to import the QFX to see if you receive the same error message. You can create a test file by navigating to File > New > Start from Scratch. Please keep in mind that it is recommended to save a backup before proceeding (just in case).

Please let me know how this goes.

    I already tried a test/dummy file.; that didn't work.

I tried a different Mac; that also didn't work.

    Hello @Chris Topher,

Thank you for providing more information.

Since the previous troubleshooting steps have failed, we recommend reaching out to Etrade directly as there appears to be an issue with the QFX file which is directly created by them and their servers, Quicken does not have access to this. Please keep in mind that it is recommended to request to speak to a tier 2 agent or a supervisor as they are generally more familiar with third-party applications such as Quicken.

I do apologize that we could not be of more assistance.
