after reading comments WOW
My hesitation on installing any new revision on my Mac is having duplicate transactions on most accounts problems with schedules etc So way behind on upgrades I am thinking of purchasing either Mac air or pro Will quicken work on them? More questions later

QMAC 7.10.1 (the most recent production version; not to be confused with this thread which is about release 7.1 from May 2023) is working just fine on my MacBook Pro (w/M4 Pro chip). My data file has transactions going back to the early 90s and is 196MB in size.

Quicken will work fine on any Mac that Apple currently makes. The current version of Quicken is the last one that will run on Mac OS 11 (Big Sur); future releases will require Mac OS 12 (Monterey) or later. Any Mac released after 2015 is able to run Monterey or later, no Mac released before 2013 can (unless you use OpenCore). Between 2013 & 2015 it depends on the model.

I'm noticing a significant response lag in this latest update. The response lag occurs when clicking to see other accounts, adjusting timeframe in Budgets, and just clicking on the top tabs. It feels like bloatware. Very disappointing.

@KenC I'm not seeing this, and I haven't seen other reports of it. I suspect what you're seeing is neither "bloatware" nor a flaw in the software at all. Please check to see if you have any windows open behind the main Quicken window. (Either slide it out of the way, or just check the Window menu to see off there is anything below "Sync Errors"; if so, those are open windows — account registers and/or reports and/or budgets — which need to be refreshed after every action you take, resulting in a noticeable time lag. Close the extraneous windows, and I'm betting you'll see performance jump back to normal.

@jacobs I've been using Quicken Mac for many years (probably decades). I open it every morning, adjusting and editing things nearly every hour. I'm very familiar with its behavior. I have not done anything different. There's no hidden window beneath, nothing else odd, not about sync errors, not newbie error. I've actually noticed it as soon as updating to version 7.1 but continued to search for changes that might affect me. Now running 7.10.1 on macOS 15.1.1 and the lag is still there. Hence, I must post it here because there's no "feedback to Quicken" option in the pull-down menu.
There's no other possibility at this point but bloatware.

not about sync errors
My suggestion was not about Sync Errors, but whether there is anything below Sync Errors at the bottom of the Window menu:
There's no other possibility at this point but bloatware.
I'll respectfully disagree with your conclusion. Do you believe only you have a "bloatware" version? Because I'm not seeing any slowdown, nor are other regular users her nor are other users reporting such a problem.
And, to be clear are you saying this began for you with version 7.1, which was released in May 2023? Or with version 7.10, which was released about 6 weeks ago?
I'm not questioning that you've been using Quicken Mac for many years, but we're all prone to making mistakes without realizing them, or overlooking something our brains tell us can't be so. 😉 Since you alone seem to be having this problem, it's therefore worth looking at all the known potential culprits, even when you're convinced they're dead ends.
Another basic question I should have asked: where is the location of your live data file? Is it in Quicken's default location inside the User Library > Application Support folder, or somewhere else? (Sometimes people intentionally or unknowingly end up with their data file on a cloud service like Dropbox or iCloud, and that can be a cause of performance issues.)
there's no "feedback to Quicken" option in the pull-down menu
in fact, there is. On the Help menu, there is a "Send Quicken Feedback" option. but I wouldn't recommend that for an actual problem, because "feedback" is likely reviewed by product teams occasionally; instead "Report a Problem" is what you'd use. (Make sure to include a description, and include the log files and sanitized file; otherwise, they can't even attempt to re-create what you're experiencing.)

It's sad that reports like this are taken so defensively to seemingly protect the precious reputation of the software. I may be the only one to have made the effort to find this forum to taken time to write things out to report it. It does not mean I'm the only unique soul that ever existed in all of humanity and history of software on Earth to ever come across such response lag. Gimme a friggin break.

@KenC My response is not defensive at all. I don't work for Quicken, and I criticize them when I feel appropriate. I was only trying to help you. I didn't say you were the only human on earth to have a problem, but I do know that if there was a problem with "software bloat" slowing the software, there would always be more than one person registering a complaint here, and that hasn't happened. I also tried to point you to how you can report problems to Quicken, which you said was not possible. I asked you some follow-up questions to try to pin down what's going on, but you seem not to be interested in my attempts to help you diagnose your issue, so I'll bow out of the discussion. Best wishes.
