Express Web Connect transactions filling payee field with memo data

My bank is Global Federal Credit Union and the connection method is Express Web Connect.

Problem: Transactions are downloaded with the transaction's memo information filled into the payee field.

I deactivated online setup and re-added online setup and got the same results.

Here are two of the transactions that have the memo for the payee instead of the payee information.
6/5/2023 Adjustment (Renamed from POS WITHDRAWAL ADJUSTMENT) $19.43
6/5/2023 Withdrawal (Renamed from DEBIT CARD WITHDRAWAL PURCHASE) $4.42

When I go online with Global Federal Credit Union, download the transactions in a QFX file, and import the QFX file, now I have duplicates of the two transactions but the QFX transactions have the correct payee information while the Express Web Connect results have the memo information as the payee information.

Here are the QFX transaction results:
Payee: The Home Depot
Memo: POS WITHDRAWAL ADJUSTMENT THE HOME DEPOT....

Payee: Withdrawal Wildmans Cooper
Memo: DEBIT CARD WITHDRAWAL PURCHASE WILDMANS COOPER LNDG....

I suspect this is an issue that Quicken will have to investigate.

Thanks,
Chris

    Hello @cmarshall_ak,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about this issue.  I'm sorry to hear you're running into this problem. When did this issue first start? Has it been doing this ever since the financial institution was connected in your Quicken, or did it just recently start behaving this way? Is this happening only with that one financial institution, or are you seeing this happen with multiple financial institutions?

    Thank you.

    Hello Kristina,

AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union recently expanded their banks and renamed themselves Global Federal Credit Union. Everything was fine with AlaskaUSA transactions and for a short while after the transition to Global Federal Credit Union, the transactions were fine. Then, for some reason I was getting logon errors when Quicken was trying to connect to Global Federal Credit Union. There was nothing wrong with my logon credentials, so I deactivated Express Web Connect for that bank. I reported the logon problem with the app "Report a problem..." to Quicken and after I installed the latest Windows release, I reconnected Express Web Connect to bank successfully and then started seeing this payee problem.

I am not having payee problems with Bank of America or Vanguard transactions.

    Thanks.

Quicken was updated this morning to R50.8 and the problem is still happening. I reported the problem with the app's "Report a problem..." to Quicken.
