The current balance listed in the side summary panel doesn't match current balance in account ledger

I have already had to create a new quicken file this year, and I am not doing it again, so please don't suggest it.

Why are the balances showing in the left Accounts panel showing values that are nowhere in the ledgers for those accounts, whether savings goals are on or not? The numbers are complete nonsense.

In the title of the Account Sidebar please click the gear icon.
In the popup, what's enabled with a checkmark: "Show Current Balance …" or "Show Ending Balance …"?

If that doesn't explain the situation, please show an image snapshot of what you're seeing.

Please save images to files of file type PNG, JPG, or GIF only. They're easier to work with than PDF files.

BTW, are you using currencies other than US-$ in your accounts? If so, what's the setting of "Home Currency" in Tools / Currency List?
