Adding Loans and Credit Cards as on-line account

Just starting out with Quicken and adding my on-line accounts. I've run into a couple of issues that I am not sure how to fix;

  1. Amex, Chase, Citibank, etc. when added, show in the Bank category. I would like to pull them in as a Credit Card category (if there is one).
  2. Vehicle loans from two different credit unions. One shows up properly in the loan category, but the other one shows as a bank account.

I know it is not possible to adjust the category once it is linked. I have deleted the accounts to try again, but it does not give me the choice on how I want the date pulled in. Is this just a known nuance with Quicken, or is there a way to make it work correctly?

    In the BANKING category in the Account Bar, there should be a thin line separating your cards from other bank accts

    For the misbehaving car loan, do TOOLS, Account List click EDIT adjacent to the account. What shows as the "Account Type"?

    Credit cards are included in the Banking section of the Account Bar (vertical list of Accounts to the left or right of the screen) with credit cards separated from checking/savings/cash by a very thin and fairly light line:

    So if that's what you're referring to, that can't be changed. But, if you're saying the credit cards are identified as Checking, Savings or Cash, (right click on an Account in the Account Bar, select Edit/Delete account, and of the Account Details scree you should see how Quicken "sees" the Account), then I've seen a few other posts along that line. What version of Quicken are you on> (Help > About Quicken) What you might try here is to first set the Account up manually (an Offline Account) and expressly tell Quicken that you're creating a credit card Account (or loan Account). After the Account is set up properly, then go to the Online Services screen and tell Quicken you want to connect it. Not sure if that will work, but it's the first thing I'd try.
