Why are my accounts gone periodically and I have to restore from backup and re-sync institutions?

This has happened three times to me. New day and I go to open the books and it says no accounts. i have to get from backup and then re-sync with my financial institutions. it just happened again and before just fixing it, I want to find out if there is a way to stop this or something I don't know. Are you opening from the Task Bar (usually at the bottom of the computer screen), opening from the start menu, or double clicking a shortcut on your desktop or in a folder? Is there a pattern to when this happens (for example, does it happen after your Quicken program updates)?
