One Step Update Ignores Two Chase Accounts

I have 5 Chase accounts, 3 work fine. Two of them I have to download QFX files.

Occasionally I get prompted to switch to OSU and I go through the motions, but after all the prompts, those same two accounts won't participate in the OSU.

At one point, 4 accounts worked fine. I tried deactivating and reactivating one, and that's why only 3 accounts work now.

How do I correct this?

    Hello @mrmeyer,

Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community, though I do apologize that you are experiencing this issue.

Before I can further assist you, I require some more information. In regard to the accounts that will not download, what are their account types? When did you first notice this issue? After a recent update? Do you receive any error codes or messages when attempting to download transactions?

I look forward to your response.

    Hello @Quicken Jasmine ,

    • I once had all 5 accounts working properly, 1 checking and 4 credit cards.
    • Due to a misplaced credit card, I reported one CC missing. Unfortunately, I closed the old account without deactivating it first.
    • I created a new credit card account for the new card, though I'm guessing behind the Chase software, it's the same account. When I attempt to add it to one step update, there are no new accounts available to sync,
    • If I download a QFX file, Quicken helpfully offers to add it to One Step Update. Chase indicates the new CC account is enabled for this purpose. Going through the prompts, though, does not enable OSU for this card. When Quicken reports which accounts are enable for OSU, the new account does not appear.
    • As part of troubleshooting, I deactivated a different card so I could then reactivate it. Now I have 2 accounts that are not part of OSU.

So now 3 accounts download properly, 2 accounts I have to download a QFX file. Some days I ignore Quicken's helpful offer to add them to OSU, other days I accept, but there seems to be no change afterward.

    Hello @mrmeyer,

Thank you for providing more information.

If you haven't already, I suggest you try to deactivate all accounts for this financial institution, then force Quicken to "discover" all available accounts and see if this will help resolve it. Please, follow the instructions below in order to do so.

    1. Open the Account List in Quicken (Tools > Account List OR Ctrl + A)
    2. If present, select the Show Hidden Accounts checkbox at the bottom of the Account List
    3. Edit each account with this financial institution to Deactivate (or Remove From One Step Update) on the Online Services tab
    4. Click on the General tab and remove any info displayed in the Financial Institution, and Account/Routing Number fields. Note: The account must be deactivated first before these fields can be edited.
    5. When finished, close the Account List
    6. Close, then re-open Quicken
    7. Navigate to Tools > Add Account
    8. Walkthrough this process as if you were going to add a new account, providing the login credentials and answering any security questions/processes presented until you reach the screen where Quicken displays the Accounts Discovered at the financial institution
    9. Very carefully LINK each of the found accounts to the appropriate account you already have set up in Quicken.

Once that is done, see if the issue still continues to persist.

Let us know how it goes!
