Adding attachment to downloaded transaction no longer works if added before entering into register
I used to be able to click on a downloaded transaction, have it appear in the register, make any changes including adding attachments and save into register permanently. This was useful. Now I can make any change except adding an attachment sucessfully. If the paper clip is clicked, it looks like it is adding it, the attachment appears in the window. But when I click on "Done", the transaction in the register clears leaving only the attachment so I cannot save it and accept into register. I have no problems adding attachments to transactions that are already entered in the register or previously accepted.

Hello @JohnA,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about your issue, though I apologize that you are experiencing this.
To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.
Validate:- File
- Validate and Repair File...
- Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.
Super Validate:- File
- Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
- Super Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps!-Quicken Anja

None of the validations change the behavior. The issue persists. It also seems that even if an attachment is not actually added, clicking "Done" on the attachment window closes the attachment window but clears the tentative contents in the register obtained by clicking a transaction from the downloaded transactions window. If an attachment is added, everything is cleared except the attachment. Transactions that already have been entered into the register (even from the Downloaded transactions window) do not have this problem allowing attachment adding to work as expected.

Please see the attached thread. This attachments issue is a known issue that has been reported to Quicken's Product & Development team (per Quicken Kristina) but no ETA on the fix. The thread also contains a fix or workaround that worked for those users that tried it. It might also work for your situation as well. If the fix doesn't work for you, the simplest work around, until they put in a programing fix, is to post the transaction first and then go back in to add the attachment.
