Quicken Circumventing Windows 11 UAC
Upon starting Quicken for the first time on a given day, if an update is available I'm presented with a UAC prompt. I select No as I do not want to update yet. I finish what I'm doing and close Quicken. After starting Quicken minutes later there is no UAC prompt and Quicken reports that I'm on the latest version.
How was Quicken able to update on the restart and circumvent UAC?
Or, is there a file change that's supposed to be happening during the update (after restart) which isn't?

What version are you on now?
R51.10 is now in staged release, which means it is being pushed to a limited number of users and may or may not be offered to you when you start Quicken.

R50.16
If R51.10 is the latest, and Quicken notified me that it was available to me during first startup this morning, why would it now tell me that 50.16 is latest?

R50.16 is the latest generally available release. Perhaps between the first and second times you started Quicken, the staged release of R51.10 was put on Hold, or the download limit was reached.
If everything goes well with R51.10, they will open it up to more users or everyone in a few days. If not, they will make further changes and repeat the process with a newer version number.

No, you just have to wait a few days. If you really want to be on the bleeding edge, you can go to the Manual Patch Update page and get it there.
The version currently there is labelled as R51.09. It is not clear what difference if any there is between that and R51.10.
