One Step Update Freezing after Version 51.10 Installed

My system updated to version 51.10. Shortly afterward, whenever I run a One Step Update the system freezes and I have to shut down Quicken via Task Manager. I can individually update Fidelity accounts but it freezes again when I try to update American Express or Elan Financial accounts.

Can I roll back to an earlier version before this is resolved?

    Hello @ssanders24,

Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community, though I do apologize that you are experiencing this issue.

Before I can further assist you, I require some more information. To clarify, you were not experiencing this issue before your application made the recent update to R51.10? Are you receiving any error codes or messages? Are you only experiencing freezing when performing a One Step Update?

I look forward to your response.

Correct, I was not experiencing this issue before my application was updated to R51.10.

No, I am not receiving any error codes or messages.

Yes, I only experience the freezing when performing a One Step Update. Interestingly, the freezing does not happen when I update accounts associated with Fidelity Investments or with Cloud Sync. It happens when I use One Step Update to update accounts associated with Elan Financial Services and American Express. These accounts are set up to use Express Web Connect.

During OSU, how long do you wait before you consider Quicken "frozen"? 1 minute, 2, 5, >30?
During that time, what does Windows Task Manager show Quicken is doing? High CPU usage, some disk I/O, regular network traffic?

OSU on my computer typically finishes within 2 - 3 minutes, updating 2 Direct Connect and 6 Express Web Connect banks.

I updated Quicken to R51.12 yesterday and the problem is now resolved.

    Thanks!

    Hello @ssanders24,

Thank you for providing more information.

To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate:

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.

    Super Validate:

    1. File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

    I hope this helps!
