Security Prices - Issue with yesterday's closing prices changing to today's price for all holdings

Mrzookie, you looked too early. Check again. All of my stock quotes were written over again tonight. Does anyone know of an alternative program to replace quicken?

Some of my holdings update correctly, others don't, and some have the correct updated price but the date is from the day before. Validating doesn't seem to help and using "correct price history" tells me that there is nothing wrong with prices.

And …. you are correct. I ran an update at 11:30PM just to see what would happen. Every single one of the 12/7 (yesterday's) stock quotes I did NOT need to manually correct earlier this evening (25 of 45) were overwritten with today's values. Not sure if that means that, if I had waited, all 45 would have been overwritten with today's prices or the same 25 would have and the remaining 20 of 45 would have still have been overwritten with incorrect prices. Curious - do you have any ETFs and if yes, have you seen problems with them as well?
Have you reported the problem to Quicken? The more of us that do, the more they'll realize this is a real problem, and maybe they'll move on it faster.

MrZookie,
I did report the issue online to Quicken. Of course, I never received a response from them. I also called the help line and was told all I needed to do was "validate the file". That worked once. My EFTs seem to be OK but I have not watched them very close. The only service I use at Quicken is to update my stock portfolio. I have brokerage accounts at five different firms.

Still having the same issue. At this point, about 50 stocks are also backdating themselves by one day and duplicating entry. I can't believe that this isn't a huge issue for a piece of software that tracks money! —George

Everyone should send error reports to Quicken reporting the problem with as much detail as possible. In fact, send one every few days. They won't respond but we need to make as much noise as possible, Ya know, squeaky wheel gets the oil …..

Monday’s quotes seemed OK for the first time in several weeks. Seemed to clean up historical quotes and actually updated Monday’s quotes with Monday’s closing prices. It matched up to the penny with Wells Fargo Securities online.
I hope this is a good sign and not just a stroke of luck.
Did anyone else notice?

Mine were ok as well.

Tuesday’s quotes on the money. Looking back historically, the only dates that are out of whack are SUNDAY 12/3 ????? and Monday 12/4. Guess quotes were written to Sunday while the problem was going on.
Happy to get 2 days in a row, but after this snafu, it will be a long time before I trust the quotes without verification.
Are others seeing success Monday & Tuesday 12/11 and 12/12?

My Tues quotes are good too, but the current day quotes are always good. Yesterday's quotes were perfect yesterday, account total tied out to the penny, but today, 13 of yesterday's good prices were overwritten with incorrect numbers.

@Quicken Anja - Any updates on this? A important but related question I have is, should we stop using real time quotes?
As people have reported in this discussion, I do see that the price history of securities get changed by real time quotes and persist leading to misleading portfolio totals. After correcting price histories for multiple securities which was painful and took time, I decided to turn off real time quotes and now rely on quicken online quotes - delayed by 15 mins which is frustrating.
Any guidance in this regard would be appreciated.

@Qkn Premium I don't now, nor have I ever used real-time quotes, and I have this problem too. I think the problem is in the overall quotes process. Either the quotes provider(s) is(are) sending incorrect quotes, or Quicken is mishandling what they're being sent. I've been finding that, for the most part, stock quotes self-correct - sometimes by as early as 5PM (eastern), but mostly between 9-10PM. Sometimes different quotes self-correct at different times. And then there are those days where some/all don't correct at all. I can't find the logic.

My quotes usually match what is on my brokerage site around 715PM-730PM. The next morning around 6AM several quotes no longer match.
