Vault: where did it all go?

Did an update a few days ago and then continued to work (add transactions) in Quicken.

When I went to do a One Step Update, my password vault is blank, and the only thing one step update shows is an option to download quotes and to sync to Quicken Cloud.

  1. I don't want to have to put in all the passwords for my accounts again (literally dozens),
  2. I don't want to go back to a previous 'saved' file, as I've been entering dozens of transactions.

Isn't there a file that I could import or something to regain online access for all those accounts??

The only passwords stored in the Password Vault these days is for accounts that have Direct Connect download connections. You can see if any of your accounts are setup for Direct Connect by looking at the Account List (Tools menu).

EWC and EWC+ connections have their password or token stored on the aggregation server(s) since it is needed to make the nightly data pickups.

This happened to me in 2021, regarding my accounts - both banking and investment accounts (not using EWC or EWC+, either then or now). I restored a backup file, checked that the restored password vault was good, and ran One Step Update which reloaded all the transactions since the backup was made.

I reported this issue to Quicken support when it happened. Surprised to see it still happens occasionally, two years later.
