I'm looking at several different budgeting applications, included YNAB and Dave Ramsey's EveryDollar - both of which provide zero-based budgeting functionality.

Does Quicken Classic Premier 2023 for Windows PC do zero-based budgeting?

    Hello @jstraugh,

To answer your question, Quicken allows you to customize your budget, but does not have any automatic option to do zero-based budgeting. When you are creating a budget, it gives you the option of going with the categories it automatically selects or manually choosing what categories to include. You can let it automatically fill in estimated budget amounts, or you can do it manually. If you have a previous year's budget in Quicken, it will base the current year off of that previous year (you're still able to customize it, but it will automatically pull in the previous year data).

    I hope this helps!

    Hello @jstraugh,

Sometime in December go through your categories and use the option "Turn rollover off".
This may give you what you want.

Caution: I stopped using the budget feature, so I'm just guessing here.
