how can i make Quicken quit telling me about Union Bank to US Bank transition?

Every time I start Quicken for the past several months it displays a pop-up telling me that Union Bank is merging with US Bank. I always deselect "remind me later" and then close the box … but it's there every time!

I haven't had a Union Bank account for more than 8 years. Those accounts are still in Quicken, because I don't want to lose the data, but they are hidden.

I would think after a hundred or so times I tell it to NOT remind me later, it would stop. But no.

    Hello @WalrusKing,

Let’s try a few troubleshooting steps for this issue—these steps should resolve things for you, but if not, please come back and post more about your experience so we can investigate.

    First, backup your Quicken file.

    Validate:

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.

    Super Validate:

    1. File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

    I hope this helps!

I've done both of those, and no difference. I still get the pop-up message about the Union Bank - U.S. Bank merger, and tells me I need to take action to continue downloading transactions and use bill pay … neither of which I ever did anyway. The pop-up isn't crippling, it's just a nuisance that I have to use a couple of extra clicks to close it each time I start Quicken.

A side note about something curious I noticed while doing this: if I use File→Exit to close Quicken, it doesn't close. All of the data is gone, and I have the title bar and the basic menu bar (File, Edit, View, Tools, Reports, Help) … but the screen is blank. And no menu selection will work, neither will the X in the upper right corner. I have to use Task Manager to close Quicken. If I close Quicken by using the X in the upper right corner (which I always do), it closes okay. This isn't really an issue, because it doesn't affect how I normally work … it's just something curious.
