Quicken Home & Business 2014

I have been using quicken for many years and never had any troubles updating. I stopped updating after I installed the 2014 program as it seemed to have everything we needed. I did purchase the retail version of 2015 thinking I would soon move to a new computer. Never did until a month or so ago. New computer running windows 11 has rejected all attempts to load the never used version 2015. Tried all the suggestions this form (ini file replacement, editing etc) plus others but still end up with a request to register to an extinct website. It comes close (for about 1 second you can see the proper screen after loading the 2014 data but then closes awaiting registration).

Giving up almost. Now have an opportunity to purchase a 2014 quicken disc. Running a little bit chicken now - if I go ahead and purchase same will I again be presented with this/these problems? I have no problem in copying .ini files etc. Concern is the 2014 issue I fave is on an old Acer running windows 10 pro - Newer machine is a Dell precision running win 11 pro. Would these differences make the new installation problematic?

So much for lifetime warranties - I still am looking to be around for at least another 5 years.

Appreciate your advice,

Hugh

Since QW2014, Quicken requires registration to a Quicken server, those servers don't exist anymore except for subscription Quicken (2018+).

-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
    - Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11

    So much for lifetime warranties

Quicken Inc and Intuit (which sold Quicken 2014/2015) before them have never given a lifetime warranty.

Guess you are correct about guarantees. At my age every thing a few years back is remembered the way you want it remembered. Did and will continue to visit your website. Now trying to get some 20 years of data on Q2013 but not surprisingly. 2013 rejects nearly identical 2014 formats.

2013 rejects nearly identical 2014 formats.

That was Intuit's policy, every year they would change the format so that the old versions couldn't read the new version's data file (and to make whatever database changes they needed for the year). Quicken Inc actually changed that and Quicken 2016 and beyond have a compatible format.

You should look at this page on my website provided you have a working machine still that you can export a QIF file from:
