Why do some categories show on all reports even though they are not selected

I am running reports on select categories. However I have three categories that can not be filtered out. When I clear categories and run a report I should get no data, however these three categories still show. If try to select a single category I get that single category plus the problematic three categories. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Are the unwanted Categories hidden? To clear them, try checking the Show (hidden Categories) box then clicking on Clear all.

Clear All only clears the Categories that are currently displayed in the list.

Try clicking on "Switch back to old interface" at the bottom of the report customization then restarting Quicken.

Please let us know if this fixes it, or if the unwanted Categories are still included in the report.

Do you still have extraneous Categories in the reports if you click on "Switch back to old interface" at the bottom of the report customization then restart Quicken, as discussed in an earlier post in this discussion?.

Unfortunately, that doesn't solve the issue. Started having the same problem a few months ago. Thought it'd resolved by now, but it isn't. When we unhide categories, clear all, then select only one category and view the report, we're still getting a report that shows several other categories as well. This is only for new reports or modifying existing saved reports. Existing reports work fine unless you modify them.

Lets go back a step. Do the unwanted Categories show in the selection list? Can you see them if you check the Show hidden Categories box?

Are there checkmarks next to them, or are they included in the report even if they are visible and un-checked?

I am having the same issue when running an Itemized Category Report. The category shows up on every Itemized Category Report.

The category is displayed with other categories, i.e., it is not hidden.

It shows up even when I uncheck it.

It is included when visible and when unchecked.

Furthermore, it actually shows up when I click clear all categories and then click OK.

I am having the same problem! The category that keeps displaying is not hidden and it is unchecked. It is for an automobile, and I am trying to display my charitable going for the year. The automobile category keeps being displayed along with the category I want.

I had the same problem—one random category showed up in all reports. I tried Jim_Harman's suggestion and it worked. Thanks, Jim.

I had the same problem, I selected 1 category but 3 extraneous categories would also show in my Spending by Category report. Switching back to the old interface solved the problem.

Had the same problem and Jim Harman's work-around of switching to the old customize interface worked. By the way telephone support was useless !!!

Same problem. Switching back to the old interface solved the problem. Definitely a problem with the new interface.

I saw the same problem today. Switching back to the old interface resolved it and some flickering issues I was having on reporting forms.
