If I buy a bond or CD then do an update the cost is added to the daily gain or loss.

This has gone on forever. Example: I buy 10 bonds at $100, the up date shows a $10,000 daily increase in the account value. There shoud be no change to the account value. I'd like to see this fixed.

I'm not sure what you are seeing. As a test I put in a "Buy bonds" transaction for 10 bonds at $100 and it removed $10,000 from my cash balance, as a result the total market value in my account didn't change.

@RBElliott Where is the cash coming from to make your bond/cd purchase.

Because if it's coming from another account … the acct that holds the bond/cd DID increase by $10K … and the other acct decreased by the same amount.

In Chris's example, the $10K was already in the account, thus no change in value.
