Capital gains TXF report equivalent for Mac (including mutual fund LTCG distributions)

I'm trying to do a draft tax return with H&R Block desktop software, using Quicken Mac data. Last year I was using Quicken Windows and everything just worked.

This year, I'm not able to create a capital gains tax report. I can generate a Schedule D report, which shows the LTCG distributions under "Money In>Long-term Capital Gains". But I can only export this in .csv format, not a .txf format that H&R Block requires.

I have seen an FAQ on how to get a capital gains report for transactions, but that is about purchases and sales, not about year-end mutual fund distributions.

The LTCG transactions are categorized as "Investments:Long-term Capital Gain" (a builtin category)

Is there any way to generate the equivalent of the Quicken Windows Capital Gains Tax Report, including LTCG distributions?

The Schedule D report is the only one which has not yet been updated to the modern report format, and with it, a separate Schedule D-only TXF export. The others have been updated recently so they will probably complete the update in a future release. Meanwhile, have you tried the all-inclusive Tax Schedule report? It includes all the schedules, and can be exported in TXF format.

The "all-inclusive" Tax Schedule report does not include transactions in the built-in/required "Investments:Long-term Capital Gain" category, even when I confirm that it's set to "Include transactions with any US tax-related category" and that this category is marked as Schedule-D, LT gain/loss - security

Ack, you're right! I ran the Tax Schedule report — which was just updated — for a period in which I sold securities, and as you note (and to my surprise), there is no Schedule D section when securities have been sold.

I have a copy of an older version of Quicken (version 6.12.7) on an older Mac, and I ran the the report for the same time period, and it does include LT capital Gains under Schedule D:

I suggest you use Help > Report a Problem t submit a bug report about this, and I will do the same.

Until this is fixed, I guess you will have to manually enter the information from the Schedule D report manually into your tax software. (I rarely check this, because I wait for my 1099s and use them for entry into TurboTax rather than what I could export from Quicken.)

@jtkqboston Today's 7.5.1 update adds TXF export for Schedule D.

I'm having the same issue on my Mac. I contact support through Chat and they removed it from the report. This is stupid. These reports are used to gage our taxes and how much we have loss or gain through the year.

@jacain956 The TXF export issue was fixed last week. Have you tried using the Schedule D report and exporting the TXF file from there?
