Need help

I need to know if anyone here has a link to the Turbo Tax site that is like this one. I can not log into my Turbo Tax account and I have jumped through hoops today trying to find out why. I called a number and got in touch with a person that said my account has been hacked and I had to log into their server to have it cancelled … and on and on. A second person called me and he was going to cancel my account and set up a new one. Well, he told me where I bank and wanted me to log into my bank. When I asked why, he said so he could refund what I paid TurboTax last year. That is where I stopped and told the guy No! We are done.

I have used turbo tax online over 20 years. It is always difficult to get logged into, but nothing like this year.

I think a superuser Mary was a user at the Turbo Tax community. Can someone get this to her or hook me up with a way to a legit Turbo Tax contact?

Thanks

    Have you tried here

Quicken Subscription HBRP - Windows 10

Yes, that is where I try to log in, then they make me enter a code from a text they send. Then I get a screen stat says something about Tsheets and I need to chose a new user name. Then I punch in an entry and they say there is a problem try again later. After an hour of that, I started looking for phone numbers.

Just did that again and same thing.

    Thanks

Scroll down to Product Support. There's an 800 number to call.

Searching the web for phone numbers is a quick way to find the scammers.

Here is the Intuit contact page with their phone number on it:

Chris and Greg I have called that number twice. It is a bot that will send you an email link to change your password, which I have done twice. You can not get a person at that number. In all attempts to log in I get to the pop up that says I have to choose a new username. That pop up always something went wrong, try later..

Seems like they want you to log into your account, then you can get help. That does not help if you can not log in.

I was just going to punch in my 1099s today. Have to wait till next month for my brokerage statements to finish filing.

    Have you tried https://myturbotax.intuit.com?

Ralph, same thing. I get to screen that asks me for a new username, and get same results. Maybe it is just broke today.

As far as I can tell Intuit doesn't provide phone support or chat, the only thing they seem to have is the community forum. I remember running into this before when I looked years ago. The only "full support" is for tax advisors.

BTW I can log into my Intuit account, but even after that I don't see any "chat" or a phone number.

If it was just an account that was needed, I would have suggested just creating a new one so that you could get into talking to someone, but it doesn't seem like being logged in gets you anything.

I would say at this point, posting on the Intuit TurboTax forum is your only option.

And you probably will have to create a new account to do that.

Haha, Chris, I can not log into the blog either. Same run around. They want a new username. I own half a share of Intuit, think I might try contacting someone in Investors Relations to see if I can stir up some help.

Yes, I figured you would need a new username. Why can't you create one? They should be free.

oh they are free, it just is not accepting an answer. This keeps I will dump TurboTax like I dumped Quicken. Btw, my homemade checkbook works great. Since it is in Sheets I can use it on any of my devices that have Chrome Browser.

Well, I just logged in there and searched for how to get your account recovered if you can't log in and this took me to this page which might help you:

I have been there and tried it all. All paths lead to that New User Name screen in the end. Thanks. Let’s just let it rest until tomorrow. If it does not work then, I will try the new account route. If that fails, there has to be a different tax service that can import my brokerage 1099’s like Turbo Tax does it.

Have you tried the corporate number? 650-944-6000

No, I will try that and see what happens. Thanks. … I called. They direct you to the support number that is a bot. Last thing it says is they do not provide product support at Corporate headquarters. Haha!

Frankly I think it would be more accurate to say they don't provide support at all. Almost all the people posting on their forum would be users, with a sprinkling of moderators. And then external tax consultants. So, other than "documentation" and some primitive "bots" no support.

😂Well there are a boatload of investors in the stock that swear it is a cash compounding machine. That is why I buy partial shares every month. Maybe they pay tiny dividends because they do not have pay for product support. Maybe I should post on one of the YouTube Discord Chanel's about this and see what I can stir up. It would fun to transfer this frustration to other investors. Chris, you know me, think I will do that just for the fun of it.

No, I do not use any social media web sites.

I just went to downdetector.com and they are not reporting any issues with TurboTax.

@David Christopher just to be clear, are you trying to access the online version of TurboTax and not the PC software?

A while back there was an issue where uninstalling Quicken on a PC would interfere with your TurboTax registration, but that was apparently fixed.

From what I understand this is the situation. This year TurboTax did institute a new "login" which you had to perform before you could use TurboTax 2023. It was one time thing. And as I understand it this failed for David, and that sent him down the rabbit hole to try to find out what was wrong with his Intuit account.

And it seems that trying to get anyone to respond to an "account problem" is near impossible.

yep Jim, I am trying to log into the online version. Intuit must have added a new product in past year called TSheets that requires old timers to get a new username for Intuit. There is a Learn more link on that pop up, when you click on it it goes to a page that talks about time sheets for payroll. Bunch of mumbo jumbo, but it does not say why new usernames are required for Intuit.
