    Do you mean Quicken, Inc.? Quicken hasn't been owned by Intuit for the last 8 years. And I don't understand what you think PayPal has to do with anything Quicken does?

    And what do you mean by "collecting". Both Quicken Inc and Intuit (Intuit because they are still Quicken Inc's "aggregator") will be "caching transactions and such information" that they need for providing the requested services.

    Intuit is a data aggregator - and thus accesses your financial institution data and then transmits it to Quicken on your desktop.
    Whatever is sent from the FI - as in transactions, balances, etc - is then transmitted to your Quicken.
    If it is not sent from the FI - then Quicken doesn't have it -
