Message on launch reported data files and told me to check a file that Quicken then failed to open
Saturday, January 20. Launched Quicken after the latest update and got a message saying Quicken had detected data loss (exact wording forgotten and not reproducible). The message also said something like "click here to learn more." When I clicked there an error appeared saying the file was in use by another process. All messages vanished and the file opened.
No obvious signs of data loss. And nothing that looks like a log file in my data folder and obvious links to the log file within the Quicken program.
What's going on?

Hello @Anders Martinson,
Have you received the error message again or noticed any signs of data loss or corruption?
Thanks!

Haven't seen the error since, and as far as I can tell the data is fine.

@Anders Martinson - What you describe usually happens if you try to launch your Quicken data file from and external drive, cloud storage, or a network. If you do so, then your file is vulnerable to corruption. Even if your data seems fine, to be safe, I suggest validating (or super validating your data file. The link below has instructions for doing a validate on your file.
