How does Quicken Calculate inflows and Outflows in a standard transaction report

    I'm not sure what your asking here. The standard Reports > Banking > Transactions report doesn't really "calculate" Inflows and Outflows, it just shows the selected transactions in the selected Accounts and the only calculation is the net change over the selected period.

    Maybe you're referring to a Register Report? In that case all the red numbers are summed, all the black numbers are summed, and those are the numbers shown on the Outflow and Inflow lines.

    It just adds up the negative amounts (outflows) and the positive amounts (inflows).

    @Tom Young if you customize the report you can set the organization from Income & Expenses to Cash Flow Basis.
