How do you remove rental properties and business from category list
In the last update from Quicken, they apparently added the categories associated with rental properties and business.
Is there some way to remove or hide these?

I briefly owned Home, Business & Rental Property during a beta, got a few "hidden" categories that I can't get rid of, but I have also found that you can get these created without ever using it.
This is a quirk of Quicken for the very fact that there is really only one program, and the "editions" are just a licensing flag that changes its behavior. But is also one that people have been exploiting forever.
If you create a category and assign it the right tax line, it will magically appear in the tax reports, but it is more than that, it will also magically force the category groups like Business expense to show.
Of course, the way to go is how you have suggested and to hide those categories.

I'm assuming that heretofore you were not running the Home, Business & Rental Property Quicken product.
In the upper left hand corner of the screen are you seeing that you're now running the Home and Business product?
And the row of tabs as the top now show the new Business and Rental Property tabs?
If that's the case then you've upgraded to the Home, Business & Rental Property version, maybe by mistake.
You could hide all the irrelevant Categories and make sure that "Show hidden categories" is unchecked both in the Category List and the list of Categories that pops up when entering transactions, but if you have mistakenly upgraded I'd contact Quicken Customer Service to roll back to the version your really want to use.

Thank you— issue somehow resolved itself. Have Quicken classic premier— downgraded from business etc.
