Downloading Pending Transactions before they Clear

Quicken is downloading transactions from my bank before they clear my account. When a transaction like from Walmart is pending but the the amount may change, my balance is all messed up. This just started happening about 2 months ago. any help wold be appreciated.

Which financial institution?

I know that Capital One credit cards will download some transactions while they are still in pending status on their website. It is for purchases that don't do pre-approval like gas or restaurants (pre-tip), those don't download until they are finalized.

And NOTE that this is the FI's decision, NOT Q's. And there's no way to control this from within Q.

Your best bet is probably to input those transactions shortly after they actually happen … before the FI can download them.

It looks like the only ones messing up my account are the "preauth" transactions.
