The totals in Quicken do not match the financial institutions totals. Is there any way to adjust the totals without effecting any other account totals

What's different? Cost basis? Value? Number of shares/units? Price of each share/unit?

The totals. All of the shares agree but the total values are off. I was wondering if there was a way to just put a placeholder in Quicken to make the total amount of the investments equal.

If the share counts are correct but the values of the holdings are wrong, then three must be a problem with the share prices.

I suggest you go to an account and click on Holdings. Set the As of date to the closing date of the statement and check the share count and price per share for each holding. Are the differences small, as might be caused by rounding errors, or much larger?

Are there differences in all the securities, or just a few?

Perhaps you could post some examples

Are these accounts being downloaded via One Step Update - or are they manually entered -
What kind of accounts…. do they have fees or ADR charges or IRA charges -
    lots of Q- …

You can reconcile the share balance in each Quicken Investment account -
    - Click on the account -
    - Click on Gear/Settings in upper right corner -
    - Click on - Reconcile SHARES - to verify things….

If the Shares match - then as mentioned, the Quote/Prices must be the problem area - and need to be reviewed
