Quicken PDF files suddenly damaged and won't open
Last week I saved invoices as pdfs, and successfully sent them to customers.
Today, I saved an invoice as a pdf, and the customer could not open it. I tried at two different computers, one a Mac and one a win10 machine, and got an error message "file is damaged and cannot be opened". I saved another invoice as a pdf and got the same error.
THEN, I opened one I had saved last week, and it was fine! The only difference between last week and this week was a Quicken update. Is there a fix or do I need to wait until Quicken fixes it?
Honest answer please, I don't have time to needlessly troubleshoot Quicken.

Hello @bkkpprmg,
In order to properly investigate the root cause of this issue, we will need to perform some troubleshooting first. By troubleshooting we will also be able to determine whether or not it can be fixed, or needs escalating. Additionally, our escalation teams require that all necessary troubleshooting steps are performed first before they will accept an issue to be escalated.
To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.
Validate:
- File
- Validate and Repair File...
- Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate. Super Validate:
- File
- Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
- Super Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
Thank you!
