Did Quicken just arbitrarily change the software to make it impossible to view my investment accounts by securities in total or by account making Quicken totally useless for me?

Not for me. What edition (Starter, Deluxe, Premier, etc.) and version (from Help > About Quicken) of Quicken are you running?

Are you referring to Investing > Portfolio views, or something else?

Or are you referring to one or more reports? If so, which ones?

If you are referring to reports: Go to Edit > Preferences > Early Access > if any of the boxes are checked, uncheck them > OK. Then check out your reports to see if they are functioning normally, again.
