Useing Quicken subscription windows

in recent weeks the commission amount in the bonds bought transaction is being added to the principle amount which is incorrect accounting. It has not done this in past months. Is there a trick to when to input the commission amount to not having it added to the principle amount

Can you show us the transaction detail that you used to record this purchase? Tough to say what went wrong when we can't see it.

When you open the Bonds Bought transaction you fill in the following boxes

Security name Barber Hill bonds, Number of bonds 25, Price 100.38, Commission 25,

    Prindipl;e amount 25120, Accrued interest 169.44, total cost 25389.44

All calculations are correct except that the principle amount should be 25095

This is from a Quicken version quite a bit older than "recent weeks."

So what are you seeing differently here?

It is a display issue on the bonds bought transaction box. the bond price times the number of bonds is the principle amount in the accounting for municiple bonds. i.e. it does not include the commission although that is in the total cost. Thank you for your input. I just find it strange that in the past when entering the data, the transaction box displayed the correct priniciple amount which did not include the commission amount . e.g. 250 shares time 100.38 is 25095 not 25120. The cost basis is certainly 25120, but not the principle amount.
