Find STILL broken x
Find is STILL broken in R56.9. It's been several months. Is it ever going to be fixed?

Q NEVER states when any particular fix is going to be implemented … until it's released.
Q is a fairly small company, and there's just too many demands on it's resources for every desire to be implemented immediately.
And, as bugs go, this one is minor in the scheme of things.

"And, as bugs go, this one is minor in the scheme of things." Well, maybe. But at one time it worked properly. How hard can it be to look at what changed on the update that broke it?
It's not a "desire", it's a bug/error/problem. Searching for any string that contains a number produces thousands of results, none of which are correct.

For the record … I believe you are referring to your original discussion,
Could I trouble you to post an image of the problem transaction?
It appears to me that you are looking for two strings of characters, each of them contained in a different field. Is that correct?
What exactly did you enter into the Find dialog? e.g., Find "Any Field" "Contains" …?0 -
Finds everything with a 6, not even 06.

Instead of using "Contains", have you tried using "Exact"?
Or have you tried using "Contains" with "Nitecore NU" leaving the 06 off entirely?

"Exact" produces 441 transactions with a 6 in them somewhere, but not the one with NU06 in it.
"Contains" with "Nitecore NU" finds 1 entry with Nitecore NU05 in it but not the one with NU06. Possibly because it may not contain Nitecore. Not sure because I can't remember the exact wording in that entry.

In this version, last that I know works.
Any field, Contains NU06 works. So if I patch back to R46.12 I can find what I'm looking for then patch to the latest to fix all other bugs, I get what I want but it's a pain.

And you have no idea of when or what category you would have used or how you might have paid for it? Maybe it didn't even get entered. I would go to ALL Transactions at the top of the Account Bar. Then try sorting by different fields like payee or memo and scan though the list. You may have to change the date filter at the top. Maybe it would help to search for places you might have bought it. You may never find it, like if you bought it with other items and didn't split out the receipt. Maybe you can narrow down the search by what you think you might have paid for it. Like under $100.
What is it? Did you try searching for other terms like flashlight? I looked it up. It says….Rechargeable Signal and Safety Light and is about $26. Was it a business expense? Look though your business categories.
Just some ideas. I like to research and look up things. I'm always looking in Quicken for when I bought something and how much.
I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

volvogirl, look at the post above yours. As you can see R46.12 find works correctly. And NU06 is found in the one and only transaction it's in.
It was broken in R47.7.
