Periodically getting "We are unable to contact the Quicken server ..."
This has been happening since fall 2023.
Something happens causing Quicken to be unable to retrieve transactions from one or more institutions. Deactivating and attempting to reactivate One Step update for an affected
account does not work. Online suggestion is to log out and log back in. Logging back in encounters this error. The suggestion to try again in one hour would be appropriate if it really was because the Quicken servers are down, but this is happening too often for that to be the cause (I have at least that much faith in Quicken's operations!).
There is a problem here that needs to be corrected, and it feels like a change to the lifetime of authentication tokens (but that's wild speculation).

Which financial institutions are you experiencing this issue with? You mention that you have been experiencing this since fall of last year. Did anything specific occur before this began to happen? Beyond signing out/in and deactivating/reactivating, have you taken any other steps? Have you contacted Quicken Support?
