Hello @kon21,
When did this issue begin to occur? After a recent update? Do you receive any error codes or messages? What exactly occurs when attempting to download from Bitcoin?
Let me know!

I would speculate it started about a month ago. Prior to that, BTC price would never get updated and I had to manually enter it. Now the price updates but it's about 8-10k higher than the actual price.

Weird that it just started downloading prices where it wouldn't before. What ticker are you using? I see that there are several and that the Canadian pricing, for example, is well above 65k though more than the 8-10k higher you see.

This might explain it. Currently it's set as: Type: Stock / Symbol: Bitcoin
If I click on Security Overview i get the following, that's where the wrong price is getting pulled from.

Anyone have a recommendation on which ticker to use?

I don't think there is one. Bitcoin is a currency, not a security. It would be like trying to track the value of the yen or the euro as a security - you can't do that either AFAIK.

Whoops, I may have been wrong. Try INDEX:NQBT.

Cool, let's find out how it does! TY for the suggestion!

Thanks, Jon (from a Windows user … former Mac user 1989-1997)!
INDEX:NQBT and INDEX:NQETH solved my issues. Had to edit <Security Detail> from <Market Index> to <Crypto> in order to use for transactions.
INDEX:BTCUSD and INDEX:ETHUSD stopped working on 5/31/2024.

Quicken Classic for Mac does not have a <Crypto> type or asset class, nor does it allow you to add your own. That's bad enough, but that BTCUSD stopped working on 5/31/20004 is a little more disappointing. I'll update to using INDEX:NQBT and see how it goes, but this is all dissatisfying.

Just found your posts today and you all saved my sanity.
Had been using INDEX:BTCUSD, and as you all noted, that went dead 5/31. So thanks to you all I changed "Symbol" to INDEX:NQBT, re-built price history, and viola it worked. Same for my ETH tracking. Thank you all a million!
PS fong424 I actually used to use windows then in 98 switched to Mac. I love Mac for nearly everything EXCEPT quicken. But thanks to posts like this I manage to track everything I need.

My Bitcoin updates correctly one day, then drops by $10k the next, back and forth. So frustrating. I am willing to try updated the symbol, but am afraid I won't know what I"m doing. Anyone able to give me step by step to make this change? Much appreciated!

did INDEX:NQBT break with the last update, Version 7.8.2 (Build 708.53926.100)?
BTC price at $67k while INDEX:NQBT showing $64.2kAny other tickers that might work?
