Cobalt Credit Union Multi-Factor Authentication

Cobalt recently implemented Multi-Factor Authentication. In addition to your user name/password, two security questions must be answered to login to my accounts associated with Cobalt Credit Union.

I cannot find where these questions (or answers) are entered into the Quicken program for the account. There is no popup asking for the answers to security questions.

Without this option, I am unable to download transactions for the bank.

I need help setting up my account to include the security question answers. (Of course, the credit union people have no clue.)

    Hello @hbaulisch,

What exactly occurs when attempting to connect to your accounts or download transactions? Are you receiving any error codes or messages? When did Cobalt Credit Union implement MFA? When did this issue begin to occur?

I look forward to your response!

Issue started on Monday or Tuesday (5/13 or 5/14). I was locked out of my web account by the Bank due to the implementation of the MFA. I logged out, cleared my browser cache and logged back into Cobalt. After entering the password, two security questions popped up. Upon entering the correct answers, I was able to login to my accounts. At that time, I asked the Customer Service person about the affect this change would have on Quicken. She did not know.

On Quicken, I open the register for my Checking account. Click the "Actions" button and then click "Update Now".

Quicken goes into the updating process, "Updating Account" and "Processing Data". At this point, it appears to hang up during the processing data function. Transactions are not updated when I compare them to the online banking transactions on the web. I do NOT receive any Error Codes or Messages.

I am using the Express Web Connect. As I was typing this response AND after several minutes, the Update was completed and the window closed. One transaction did get updated. Sometimes, the Quicken program crashes upon completion of an Update.

Symptoms have changed somewhat because it appears the update success is intermittent.

    UPDATE INFO —

I signed out of my Quicken program (Edit/Preferences/Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts/Sign in as a different user) and logged back in to the program. I then go to the individual Cobalt Checking account and Edit Account Details/Online Services/Reset Account.

The program then updates the banking transactions as expected (blue marks on those transactions not previously reviewed and accepted).

    Hello Jasmine,

I think we can close this issue. Apparently, I can get the updates with a work around?

    Thanks!
