Kohl's download issues.
Probably beating a dead horse.
I've sent complaints to Kohl's about they're lack of response from requests to fix the download issues we have. Got no response. I've noticed a few things about downloading transactions from various CC accounts I have.
- Some CC websites require me to enter a code sent to me as part of the logon process. This does not go away even if I select Remember this device.
- Some Store websites redirect me to a different URL when I select Manage My Account.
My thoughts are that Quicken uses the store URL and not the CC account management URL as others have pointed out. Upon failure Quicken says to access the account online to verify the username and password are correct then try again. Going online to access account management, a different URL than the store URL, requires a third step which is to input a code sent to me. I can select remember this device and future logons don't require the third step.
Quicken does not give the option to edit the URL. If it did there would still be the issue of the third step, entering a code. When linking my Chase Bank accounts Quicken gives a link to Chase Bank and requests that I logon to verify my identity. After logging onto Chase Bank a message pops up telling me to return to Quicken and complete the linking process.
I have this same issue with a couple of credit cards sponsored by Comenity Bank. Some CCs work while some don't. What does this suggest? The failure is probably not on the part of the banks or Quicken but on the website management folks of the individual stores and their inability to fix the problem. I don't understand why the banks don't work with the stores to delivery consistent online access across all of the retailers they work with. Quicken clearly understands how to make their part of the process work because most financial institutions have no problem.
