Bills & Income Due Date

The bills & Income due date still only defaults to 14 days. There have multiple comments on this issue for the past year and now they even sent an email saying the problem had been solved. No, it has not been solved. I have written about this issue for a year as have other users.

Why can't the programmers fix this? It's a bit ridiculous at this point as sometime back it actually worked until they started making changes.

Please fix the issue!

I just set my program to 30 days, exited Quicken, and re-entered Quicken. My program held the 30 day selection. Are you running the latest release of Quicken? It was fixed a couple of versions ago, if memory serves.

The time period to show Reminders on the Bills & Income tab does not save for me, either. But I'm running R55.26 which is 1 version down from the latest version so maybe that is why it is not working for me.

What I have done to get around this issue:

    1. Home tab > upper right Gear icon > Add View.
    2. Type in a custom Name for the View > select Bill and Income Reminders > Add > Save.

When done, it will appear as a separate View on the Home tab similar to this:

I like this option for viewing Reminders much more than the view on the Bills & Income tab….and the last date range used will be saved when Quicken is closed so you will see it the next time exactly like you last used it. Try it out. You might, too. If you don't like it you can always remove it later (see the 2nd picture I posted above for where/how to do that).

Let me know your thoughts and/or questions.

At TOOLS, Manage Bill and Income Reminders … I'm seeing a LOT more than 14 days.

There a reminder all the way at the bottom of that list, for 7/1/25 … over a year from today.

The All Bills & Deposits tab in this tool (like in the pic you posted) appears to have its own set of problems. For me it looks like all my Reminders show up for June and July but starting with August I get only 3 Reminders showing up. In the picture you posted, it shows only 1 Reminder for August. For Sep and later that same issue continues with only a few of the Reminders shown each month and then in 2025 there is only 1 Jan Reminder and 1 Jun Reminder. Then here's the kicker: The 2nd to last Reminder shown is for Jun 2025. Then the next and last reminder skips out to July 2029 (not a typo…2029!). Looks like it's a bug on this tab.

The Monthly Bills & Deposits tab does not appear to have this issue but I noticed another possible issue: Almost every month the total expenses shown exceeds the total income by hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars a month which is not really the case. However, the projected balances graph seems to correctly show that income exceeds expenses in most months.

I'm going to need to spend a little more time digging into this some more to see if I can identify what the cause(s) of this are and if there is something I need to do to correct them.

Those 8/7 and 9/1 reminders are set for every 3 months … so they're showing correctly in my reminders. The previous incidence of them was 5/7 and 6/1 respectively.

And the ones that follow after those are Annual … again showing correctly. The 7/1/24 Annual reminder, preceding that 7/1/25 that I referenced has, likewise, already been entered since I'm planning cash-flow for when I'm on vacation in early July.

SO, I'm not seeing any errors

@NotACPA - Here is what I see in the Monthly Bills & Deposits tab: 28 Reminders. This is the approximate number of Reminders I have each and every month.

Here is what I see in the All Bills & Deposits tab: Aug - 3; Sep - 1; Oct - 1; Nov - 3; Dec -3. That's a far cry from the 25-30 Reminders I have for each of those months. I typically don't enter Reminders more than 2-4 wks out….certainly not as far out as Aug-Dec.

The graphs below the Reminders lists appear to be correct but there is something really wrong here.

@Hub - You can check out the option suggested by @NotACPA for yourself. If it looks accurate to you, then great, might be a viable option for you. But if you are seeing some of the issues that I've talked about here, then you might want report it to Quicken via Report a Problem. That's what I will be doing. Let us know if you are seeing these same issues or not.

Otherwise, the suggestion I first posted near the top of this thread is a proven accurate alternative to the Bills & Income tab view.

@Hub the fix for the 14 day issue was put into place with R56.9. So if you are on an older version, you will not benefit from the fix.

All this is very interesting. My version is still showing R53.32 and when I look to updates it says I have the most current version. How did you get Version R56.9? My Quicken is Premier.

After reading these posts, I reinstalled Quicken and it is now showing R56.9 and low and behold the 30 days in the bills and reminders actually popped up as 30 days.

Now, I wonder why the "automatic" updates did not work? Cmon Quicken!!!
