Can't Add Morgan-Stanley Investment Accounts

I split my quicken file. Then I found that all of my online connections were gone. I restored most of them (all of the credit cards and cash-type accounts), but when I try to add my investment accounts (at Morgan Stanley), it only shows me the cash accounts (which I already added). I did not have this trouble with Schwab or JP Morgan.

I do not have a separate signon for their Wealth Management/Client Services website.

Are these investment accounts formerly managed by E*Trade?
If so, then the old "Quicken E*Trade" financial institution name and your E*Trade ID and password will still work. Mine does.

    No, not E-Trade.

Unless somebody else chimes in with a better idea, I'd say it's time to call Quicken Support on the phone during posted hours of operation and request help. Let them do a screen share session with you to review the situation on your computer, to determine the nature of the problem and to figure out how to fix it.

I contacted support on the telephone - didn't take long. I explained the problem and she had me share the screen to see what happens. Once she saw, she had me edit the name on one investing account - somehow it said, "Morgan Stanley Cash Management." I removed the words, "Cash Management." she had me get out of that and click on the + sign in the green bar to add a new account. It asked me for the company name and I chose "Morgan Stanley Wealth Management," and Next. Then, for the first time, it showed me all of the investing accounts at M-S. I was able to use Link to Existing Account for most and Add for a few. Unfortunately, for certain accounts, it asked me whether that transaction was the one scheduled for… etc. about 100 times and I replied, "No." Now finished, I notice that the bottom-line net worth is not correct - it is inflated. I suspect that I will have duplicate transactions that I will have to find and delete.

I would not, in a million years, have suspected that the account type is taken from the descriptive text in the title of the account. The type always showed as "Investment" in the Account Manager.
